AT THE EDINA VILLAGE HALL, Hembers presenD- were Child, TrJillson, Hawthorne and Christopher. Village Engineer's office reported tabulation of bids on Hater &in Exkension for the following streets, said bids having been received at the Heeting of October 13: I Wind Road, Unity Avenue to Minnesota State Highway No. 100; Hinnesota State Highway No. 100 from Yvonne Terrace to Kent Avenue; Yvonne Terrace (as per Preliminary Plat) from Minnesota State Highway No. 100 West 56th Street, from Minnesota State Highway No, 100 to Vessex Avenue; Kent Avenue, from IEmesota State Highway No, 100 to Warwick Place; Warwick Place, from Kent Avenue to West 56th Street; l?essex Avenue, from 11, 56th Street to 240' North. to West 56th Street; , It was recommended that the bid of the low bidder, Phelps-Drake Company, Minneapolis, at $25,300.40, be accepted, and that contractor be directed to proceed with con- struction at the earliest possible date. Hawthorne offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID WATER EW D*iPROVEl*IEXT BO, I2 a WEREAS, pursuant to advertisement for bids published in the Hennepin County Review, Hopkins, 1.iinnesota and in the Construction Burmetin, Eiinneapolis, Mnnesota, on September 23, and October 2, 1947, for the improvement of the following streets by construction of Village Water Win Extension therein, the following bids have been duly recekred and opened; Wind Road, Unity Avenue to Hinnesota State Highway No. LOO; IEnnesota State Highway No. 100, from Yvonne Terrace to Kent Avenue; Yvonne Terrace (As per Preliminary Plat) from Minnesota State Highway Vest 56th Street, from Ninnesota State Highway No, 100 to llessex Avenue3 Kent Avenue, from 3kesota State Highway No, 100 to Plarwick Place; Wartrick Place, from Kent Avenue to West 56th Street; Wessex Avenue, from 11, 56th Street to 240' North; No, 100 to West 56th Street; - Bids : Lametti & Lametti, St, Paul, Minnesota 8 25,385.00 Phelps-Drake Company, l.Linneapolis, Mknesota 25,300*40 Orfei & Nariani, St. Paul, Efinn. 26,877 A0 THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Edina that the $25,300,40 ?bid of Phelps-Drake Company, Nimeapolis, is hereby determined to be the bid of the lowest responsible bidder, and the president and clerk are here- by authorized and directed to enter into a contraot with said Phelps-Drake Company in the name of the Village, for the improvement of the above named streets by construction of Village T'later Nain Mension therein, according to the plans and specifications therefore which have heretofore been approved by this Council and filed in the office of the ClelJl at the price specified in said bid, and which said contract shall be approved as to form by the Village Attorney. *" BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the clerk =is hereby authorized and dsected-to , return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids except that the deposits of the successfyl. bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until the contract has been signed. Motion to adopt %he Resolution was seconded by IKLlson and on Rollcall there were four ayes and no nays, as follows: and Christopher, aye; and the Resolution was adopted. Child, aye; I.lillson, aye; Hawthorne, aye; Claim of the Village of Hopkins, amount $45.00, for fire call August 31, was presented. Notion by Hawthorne allking claim was seconded by Child and carried, .Letter of Hove Company, regarding posting of a bond for fire protection vith Ninneapolis, was referred to Public Safety Committee. Pursuant to IIAdvertisxent for Bids on Sale of Certificates of Indebtedness-Water M&in Improvement No. 9 and Water Nain Improvement No, 10, published in Hennepin . 10/20/47 County Review, Hopkins, Minnesota, and Finance and Commerce, Minneapolis, Minnesota, September 25, and October 2, President again called for sealed bids on the above named Certificates, Bids opened and read were as follows:: I Allison-Williams Company, Minneapolis ' For $lO,TOO Watermain Certificates Kalman & Company, St; Paul, Minn. ($6,000-W.M01.#9 and $l+,~OO-W,M.I, m0) $6,000 Water Main Improvement Certificates #9 $10,500 Water Main Certificates .. $4,500 It It It It #lo First Edina State Bank ($6,000 W0M01.#9 and $4,5OO-W.M.I* #lo) Int, Premium 2%- 2% $ 10.50 Hawthorne offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption:: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AWARD AND SA= OF CERTIFICATES WATER MAIN ~JPROVE~JIENT NO, 9 NHEIZEAS pursuant to resolution of this Council adopted September 8, 1947, and amended September 22, 1947, two weeks' published notice has been given that this Council would open and consider bids at this present meeting for certificates of indebtedness hereafter described, and this Council has met at the time and place specified in said notice and has opened and considered the following bids: Allison-Williams Company, Minneapolis Kalman & Company, St. Paul, Minn. First Edina State Bank Int . Premium 4b 29.15 2% 6 .Oo 2% 6 .OO and mostfavorable, now therefore FJHEREAS the bid of Allison-Williams Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota, is deemed BE IT rZESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Edina that the said bid of Allison-Williams Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota, is hereby accepted, and the President and Clerk of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver certificates of indebtedness of the Village of Edina in the aggregate sum of $6,000 to bear interest at the rate of Two Percent (2%) per annum payable semi- annually, issued pursuant to resolution adopted September 8, 1947, and amended September 22, 1947, for improvement of the following street: by construction of Water Main Extension therein, as authorized by Chapter 425, Laws of 14innesota 1921, as amended, upon payment of $6,000 and accrue& interest to the Village Treasurer in consideration therefore. Motion to adopt the Resolution was seconded by Child, and on Rollcall there were four ayes and no nays, as follows: Christopher,. aye; and the Resolution was adopted.
