Discussion was had. as to decreasing the boundaries of the •district, inasmuch as considerable of the property in the western half, beyond Concord Avenue, is unplatted and would secure no imr,:ediate benefit from said construction. Child offered the following Resolution. and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ORDERING S.9IrrITARY SMMR VQ B-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village., of. Edina, Minnesota, as follows: 1. It is hereby found determined and declared that, this Council has heretofore caused notice of hearing of a proposed Sanitary Sewer Improvement to be published in the Suburbau Press on July 21 and July 28, 1949, which notice provided for hearing on objections to said improvement to be held on August 8, 1949; that said-hearing was drily held and all persons interested were afforded opportunity to present th-elr views on said improvement, and after consideration of objections presented at said meeting the Council adjourned said hearing to October 24, 1949, notice of which adjournment was given to all persons present at said hearing; that pursuant to such adjournment the Council again met on October 24, 1949 and determined to decrease the area to by assessed for said improvement, anal afforded opportunity to all persons present to be heard on the question of constructing said improvement as hereinafter described and financing the same by the levy of special assessments of property within the area herein- after specified; and that no objections to making said improvement were presented at said hearing. Motion by Willson, deferring acceptance of Minutes of Meeting of October 24 until next regular meeting, was seconded by Palen and carried. r President Cooper announced Continuation of Public Hearing on proposed assessment for,the Grading a-ad Gravelling of Monroe Avenue between Maloney Avenue and the North Village Limits.' This'hearing had been continued from the Meeting of October 24, pending an on -the -field inspection of the work by the Council �rith the property owners. Messrs. Child and Willson reported that inspection had been made, and that with a small amount of maintenance work, the street will be in condition. Assessment R611, in amount of $3,126.64, as against 2,299 assessable feet, or $1.36 per assessable foot, was reviewed. There were no objections to the assessment, either oral or written. Willson offered the following Resolution and` moved it's adoption% t r RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSfIENT«- STREET IMPRO +' ' JT _ N0. -- XQ06MM =-GRADING AND GRAVELLING OF MONROE AVENUE �ETtMBN MALONEY AVENUE AND NORTH VILLAGE LIMITS WHEREAS proposed assessment for the cost of the improvement of Monroe Avenue between Maloney Avenue-and the North Village Limits by Grading-and Gravelling has been duly filed with the Village Clem and open to publics Inspection... and notice has been published in Suburban Press, Hopkins, Minne- sotm, on September 29 and October 6, 194,9, that this Council would pass upon said proposed assessment at the Meeting of October, 194,91, and this council has met at the time and place specified in said notice, now therefore$ . BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Edina that said proposed assessment, which is hereby `referred to and made a part hereof, is hereby adopted, and an assessment is hereby levied against each of`the lots, parts of lots, pieces and parcels of land described therein in the sums _therein respectively set forth, and each of said tracts of land is hereby found to be benefited in the amount of the assessment levied against it herein% BE IT FURTHEE RESOLVED `that each assessment shall be payable in equal annual installments extendink over a period of three years, the first to be payable on the first day of June, 19509 all deferred payments are to bear interest at the rate of 5% per annum. Said assessments and interest shall be a lien upon the property therein specified concurrent with general taxes as authorized by Chapter 65, Laws of Minn. 1919,,as amended.
