AT THE EDINI; VILLAGE HALL, Pursuant to due call and notice, the Edina'Village Council convened in Special Session a t the Village Hall, at 5:OO P,M,, Thursday, April 12, 1956. $!embers answering Rollcall were Crinkley, Fronk and Tupa, Trustee Fronk acted as Mayor Pro Tern. .I - - AWARD nl OF BIDS TfiKEN'APRIL 9: April 9, for street improvements on France Avenue between V.64th and W.73rd S."veets; on W.66th St .I between France and Xerxes Aves. ; and on Valley View Road from W.62nd St, to France Ave,, total bids being as follows: Manager Hyde presented Tabulation of Bids taken J. W, Craig Go, $256; U6 . 90 McLean-Rstleford 1 $259,899 25 Howard Ganley, Inc. $260,865,05 J.V. Gleason Co, $261; 591 . 60 -Alexander Construction Co. $262;065.20 . Bury and Carlson $280; $00.05 Manager Hyde recommended award of contract to low bidder, J. W, Craig Co. It was moved by Crinkley, seconded by Tupa and carried, that contract be awarded to low bidder, J. W. Craig Co.; and that duplicate copy of contract be forwarded to the Board of Hennepin County Commissioners, inasmuch as this is a joint contract . - SETTLTMEDJT OF FJELDHEIM CLAIM FOR DRI;IUGE DI\&'iGES* Manager Hyde reported that Village Attorney has negotiated-a settlement in the amount of $450,00, for the Fjeldheim claim in amount of $8,000 against the Village and M.P.Johnson. motion for approval of settlement and payment of, $450.00, was seconded by Crinkley and carried. ..* OVERTIME: It was moved by Crinkley, seconded by Tupa and carried, that the ViUage Manager have authority to authorize overtime for Village employees, where he- feels it is necessary, without action by Council.
