The Village Clerk presented to the Council the official returns of the special election held in and for the Village on February 5, 1957, as filed in her office by the judges and clerks of th”e ele‘ction for the Village, together with affidavits showin$ posting and publlcation of notice of said election, in accordance with the resolution adopted by the Council on Decem5er 28, 1956. davits were examined and found satisfactory and directed to be placed on file. Said returns and affi- Membe*r Bank then introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Edina, Minnesota, that the special election held in” and for said Village on February 5, 1957, has been in all respects duly conducted pursuant to notice thereof duly published and posted, and the returns thereof have been canvassed by this Council in accordance with law, and it is hereby found and determined that the votes cast upon the questions submitted to the electors at said election were as follows: ’Shall the Village of Edina borrow money and issue its qegotiable coupon general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding $650,000, for the purpose of acquisition of parks and playgrounds, including necessary land, ease- ments, structures and equipment, for the municipal park system? 1 Votes YES: 2,535 Votes NO: ‘1 , 402 Spoiled, Blank or Defective * Ballots : 3 1 . * Total Votes * 3,940 I Shall the Village of Edina borrow money and issue its negotiable coupon general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding $200,000, for the acquisition of a muni- cipal swimming pool? Votes YES: 2,164 Votes NO: 1,759 Spoiled, Blank or Defective Ballots : 17 Total Votes: 3,940 and each of said propositions, having received.not less than a majority of the votes cast thereon, it is hereby declared to have carried. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by I Fronk, and on Rollcall there were Five ayes, Bank, aye; Dickson, aye; Fronk, aye; Tupa, aye; and Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. ” Village Clerk
