FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
First Open House on Arden Park Updates Set for Jan. 9
Edina, Minn., Dec. 15, 2017 – The first of three public open houses to keep people up to date on
the plans for Arden Park is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 9, 2018, at City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St.
Arden Park is located at 5230 Minnehaha Blvd. Representatives of the City of Edina and the
Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD), which is partnering with the City, will be on hand
to explain aspects of the project and answer questions. Among the topics to be discussed are the
alignment of Minnehaha Creek through the park, tree preservation, trails and maintaining the park’s
rustic character. People also will be given an opportunity to provide feedback on what they learn.
Those who are unable to attend the open house can learn more on the project webpages at
EdinaMN.gov/ArdenParkConceptPlan and Minnehahacreek.org.
Open houses also are planned for May and August 2018 to provide updates and gather feedback as
the design phase for Arden Park moves forward.
The City and MCWD are working together to improve Minnehaha Creek and the overall health of
Arden Park while adding recreational opportunities there. The design phase, which started in
December 2017 and will run into early 2019, will take the concepts of the City Council-approved
Arden Park Master Plan and develop technical plans and specifications to make them happen.
In addition to participating in open houses, residents will be directly involved in the design of both
the park shelter and new playground.
