FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Restaurant Operator Sought for Braemar Golf Course
Edina, Minn., Dec. 13, 2017 – The City of Edina is requesting proposals to operate the restaurant space
inside the Braemar Golf Course Clubhouse.
“The facility seeks an organization or individual to create a comfortable, inviting and fun environment for all
our customers to enjoy,” said Braemar Golf Course General Manager Joe Abood.
The incoming vendor is being asked to provide food and beverage service seven days a week, including
breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
The new restaurant will operate in the recently remodeled 60-seat grill-style dining area that features
expansive views of the Championship 18 course. The facility also has a restaurant kitchen, four exterior
patios, a 200-seat banquet room, a banquet prep kitchen and on-course food and beverage cart service.
“There are endless possibilities for a new vendor,” Abood said.
The new restaurant will be in place before the Championship 18, the new course designed by Richard
Mandell, opens in Spring 2019.
“It’s a brand new golf course that’s going to draw people from all over the region who will be at the
Clubhouse,” Abood said.
In addition to the 40,000 rounds per year expected on that course, Braemar Golf Operations projects 20,000
rounds per year on its Academy 9 Par 3 course and 45,000 buckets of balls sold for the Driving Range. Other
visitors will come for the newly constructed multi-use lawn area, the banquet and meeting spaces, and nearby
Braemar Arena, Braemar Field, Braemar Golf Dome and Courtney Fields baseball complex. Improvements
also are expected at Braemar Park, where the golf course is located, including new walking and mountain
biking trails.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) emphasizes that any potential vendor provide excellent customer service
and a wide variety of fare.
“We want something that will complement golf operations, and we want something that will complement the
City of Edina, making this a destination for the area,” Abood said.
