SWTV/BCAT Launch Free Teen Video Boot Camp
Edina, Minn., Feb. 21, 2018 – Southwest Community Television (SWTV) and Bloomington Community
Access Television (BCAT) will offer a Teen Video Boot Camp this summer.
Youth ages 12 to 17 from Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Richfield will work
together to run video cameras and audio equipment and act, direct and create their very own short film in
just one week, June 25-29. BCAT Communication Specialist Ben Vinar and SWTV Community TV
Administrator Dietrich Nissen will lead the teens in having fun being a part of a production team, making new
friends and learning to produce quality videos. The final day will include a screening of the film for friends and
family.
The camp will be held 1 to 4 p.m. at BCAT Studio, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road in Bloomington. The camp is
free to residents of Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Richfield through a contract between BCAT
and the Southwest Suburban Cable Commission; Bloomington residents pay $15 for a one-year student
membership to BCAT.
