Edina Art Center to host ‘Sumi-e Garden’ Exhibition
Edina, Minn., March 28, 2018 –The Edina Art Center welcomes the spring season with talented Sumi-e ink
painting artists. The work of 11 Sumi-e artists will be displayed April 26 through May 23 in the “Sumi-e
Garden Exhibition” there.
The Edina Art Centers Members’ Tuesday Afternoon Ink & Brush painting group will captivate viewers with
their expressive flowers, landscapes and animals. These Asian style brush painters use the traditional tools of
brush, ink stick, ink stone and rice paper – called ”The Four Treasures” – along with colored pigments. See
the contemporary, classical and experimental use of Sumi-e painting at this dynamic exhibition.
The opening of “Sumi-e Garden Exhibition” will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Edina Art Center’s
Tea Room Gallery, 4701 W. 64th St. The gallery and opening reception are free and open to the public. The
exhibition can be viewed through May 23, during regular business hours, 9 a.m.-8p.m. Monday through
Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
