FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Community Bus Service, CloverRide, Begins June 22
Edina, Minn., June 14, 2018 – The City will begin offering a Southdale-area circulator bus called CloverRide
on Friday, June 22, with the aim of making the Southdale area more accessible. CloverRide is offered weekly
on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Riders pay a daily fare of $3 that allows them unlimited rides throughout
that day.
“This is an additional way for people who either don’t have cars, choose not to drive, or can’t drive to get to
where they want to go,” said Transportation Planner Mark Nolan. “We are very excited about this and we
want anyone in the community to take advantage of the CloverRide service.”
To start, CloverRide will have 10 stops in the area that will run on a loop, beginning at Brookdale Edina. The
entire loop takes one hour. The full schedule with departure times can be found online at
EdinaMN.gov/CloverRide.
Residential Stops:
• Aurora on France
• Brookdale Edina
• South Haven
• Yorktown Continental
Other Destinations:
• Centennial Lakes Park
• Cub Foods
• Lunds and Byerlys
• Southdale Center
• Target
• YMCA
The service is supported by DARTS, which has helped support several other community transit services in
the area. DARTS focuses on senior services and, in addition to transportation services, offers services like
light housework, outdoor chores, home repair and caregiving resources.
Riders who are near the route can also request a special stop if it’s within two blocks of the regular route. To
request a special pick up, call 651-234-2272. Additionally, riders with mobility devices such as scooters,
wheelchairs or walkers are welcome; the CloverRide driver will assist with the loading as needed.
