HILLDALE SANITARY SBYER LIFT STATION FINA"1MG DISCUSSED. Manager Hyde gave the Council a report as to the Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations already constructed in the Village, for which small areas are being specially assessed; and the methods of financing the proposed lift station for Hilldale were discussed at some length. Attorney Hasselquist told Council it would be legally possible to defer assess- ment for lift station against the lots not presently benefited by it; and it was decided by common consent of Council that the proposition should be presented to Hilldale residents that the assessment for Lift station be deferred until such time as lateral connections are made, with 5;d interest to be added from the date of the original assessment until such time as connection is made. OFFICIALS APPOINTED FOR NOVEMBER 3RD VILLAGE ELECTION. Clerk presented roster of nominees for Election Judges for the Village Election of November 3, explain- ing that she had been unable to secure a full roster to date, and asking that she be given authority to appoint the remaining seven judges from the registration file. the November 3rd Election, and authorizing Clerk to make the remaining seven appointments was seconded by Kohler and carried: Camille Kortum and Grace Ode11 (three still to be appointed). Finance Director Dalen presented tabulations sho1:zing that sufficient moneys are now on hand to justify cancelling several of the Irprovenent Fund Ad Valorem Taxes payable in 1960, as well of S13,EOO o€ the $46,000 Park System Bond Tax. 1:ohler offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption: He recorriiended cancellation of these taxes, and RESOLUTICI! Ci$JCELLII.IG II.:PZOVE.ICIT FUNDS - AD VALQREI: TAXES COLLECTIBLE WTH 1959 ::%EREAS, The Village Council of the Village of Edina has, by Resolution adopted Atarch 13, 1950, levied a special ad valorem tax €or the payment of principal and interest of its 1950 Third Series Improvernent Fund Bond Issue; said ad valorem tax in the amount of $700 being collectible with and as a part of other general taxes for the year 1959; and YEHEREAS, The Village Council of the Village of Edina has, by Resolution adopted August 31, 1951, levied a special ad valorem tax for the payment of principal and interest of its 1951 First Series Improvement Fund Bond Issue; said ad valorem tax in the amount of*$500 being collectible with and as a part of other general taxes for the year 1959; and WHEREAS, The Village Council of the Village of Edina has, by Resolution adopted !.larch 2, 1953, levied a special ad valorem tax for the payment of principal and tnterest of its Sanitary Sewer Irrprovernent 110. 53 Fund; said ad valorem tax in the amount of $24,000 being collectible with and as a part of other general taxes for the year 1959; and C'HEREAS, The Village Council of the Village of Edina has, by Resolution adopted Cctober 26$ 1953, levied a special ad valorem tax for the payment of principal and interest of its Southdale Improvement Fund, said ad valorem tax in the amount of $5,700 being collectible with and as a part of other general taxes for the year 1959; and I'JHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 475.26, permits the cancellation of said levies providing moneys are on hand for payment of princ%paL and interest for said bond issues; and it has been determined by this Council that 'the required moneys are cn hand for the payment of said principal and interest: PKY.7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Edina that those ad valorem tax levies made by Resolutions of this Council adopted hlarch 13, 1950, August 31, 1951, Uarch 2, 1953 and October 26, 1953, and collectible with and as a part of other general property taxes in said Village for the year 1959, be and hereby are cancelled; and WHEREAS, The village Council of the Village of Edina has, by Resolution adopted February 25, 1957, levied a special ad valorem tax for the payment of principal and interest of its -Park Systen Bonds;' said adevalorem tax in the amount of $46,000 being collectible with and as a part of other general taxes for the year 1959; and ?'!HER€EIS, Ordinance KO. 17 of the Village of Edina (An Ordinance Establishing the General Obligation Bond Redemption Fund) permits the cancellation of all or part of said levy providing moneys are on hand for payment of principal and interest €or said bond issue; and it has been determined by this Council that the required moneys are on hand for the paynenk of all of the interest and a part of the principal of said bond issue: IEJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Edina that $13,800 of that ad valorem tax levy made by Resolution of this council dated February 25, 1957, be and is hereby cancelled. 32 IT RUF-THER RESOLVED that the county Auditor of Wennepin County, I.;innesota, be authorized and directed to cancel the above described ad valorem tax levies and to delete said-levies €mn taxes to be spread for the year 1959.
