to possible rezoning of this site from Comercial back to Open Development
District.

I COXDEMNATION OF LANDS AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION. Pursuant to recent action taken by
the Council in accordance with recommendation by the Village Entineer, Trustee Tupa
offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption:

l.JHEREAS, It is necessary, advisable and in the public interest that the Village - of Edina acquire land for public road purposes and for storm sewer purposes;

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Edina, Minnesota:
1. This Council shall meet at the time and place fixed in the form of
notice set forth below for the purpose of opening, receiving and acting upon
sealed bids for the purchase of $1,800,000 Improvement Bonds to be issued to
finance various improvements heretofore instituted pursuant to Minnesota
Statutes, Chapter 429, and to retire temporary improvement bonds heretofore
issued for that purpose.
The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice
of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published forthwith in
the Edina-Morningside Courier, the official newspaper.of the Village; and in
the Commercial West, a financial newspaper in the City of Minneapolis, Minne-
sota, and in The Bond Buyer, at New York City, New York.

Minnesota, will meet at the Village Hall in said Village on Monday, September '
26, 1960, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., Central Standard Time, to open, receive and
consider sealed bids for and award the sale of $1,800,000 negotiable coupon
general obligation Improvement Bonds to be issued pursuant to Chapter 429,
Minnesota Statutes, for the purpose of financing the construction of various
water main, sanitary and storm sewer, and street improvements, in anticipa-
tion of the collection of special assessments levied and to be levied there-
for, and for retiring temporary obligations in the amount of $500,000 hereto-
fore issued for that purpose.

hereby adopted as the terms and provisions of said bonds and of the sale thereof
as fully as though separately set forth and resolved herein.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution 17as seconded by Trustee

BUDGET REQUESTS J33ARD BY COUNCIL. The Council met with Park Board, and then
with Hunicipal Court personnel, to hear budget requests for the year 1961.
During meeting 17ith Park Board,. several phases of operations were discussed,
including the matter of park maintenance, and also the matter of fees for the
recreation program, it being the concensus that the recreation program should
be more nearly self sustaining.
There being no hrther business to come before this meeting, VanValkenburg
moved for adjournment.
