Mr. Hite presented topographical maps of the preliminary plat and explained that there would be approximately 250,000 yards of material removed from the area. This matter was continued from December 7 and November 16 Meetings. Ralph Kiichli stated that if the variance was not granted he would suffer a financial loss of $4,000 to $5,000, since he purchased the entire piece of . property on the assumption that it was of two-lot size. tne Planning Commission recommended that the variance be granted since the Commission was advised the total area of the two pieces and accompanying setbacks would meet the ordinance requirements. the lack of cooperative effort on the part of Mr. Kiichli and Mr, Densmore was as much a contributing factor to any appearance of hardship as was the investments. involved. Council action. his opinion, therefore he moved that the recommendation of the Planning Commission for approval of the variance be adopted. COUNCIL G.WTS SIDE YARD-..,VARIANCE TO R. N. BEIM. Mr. Hite explained that the request was for a variance on both side yard setbacks, from ten feet requirement to 7.5 feet. Mrs. Sprague, 5525 Woodcrest Drive, requested that the foundation be surveyed and marked so the neighbors would be able to see the actual intended dimensions and extensions of the proposed dwelling. variance was necessitated by the fact that the lot would not accomodate a basement, therefore the utilities had to be located on the ground level. Mr. Beim was \ willing to accomodate the request of Mrs. Sprague. foundation be staked out before construction begins, so as to gain the approval of the neighbors. STEET ,VACATION, ,HEARING DATES SET AT FEBRUARY 1. Hearings on the vacation of the following streets be held on Monday, February 1, 1965 : I Southern Railway right-of-way. Motion was seconded by Rixe and carried.
