€4INUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EDINA
VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD FRIDAY, AUGUST 27, 1965,
AT 3:OO PaIY., AT EDINA VILLAGE HALL
Meeting convened at 3:OO P.M. at the Village Hall, with the following members
answering Rollcall: MacMillan, Rixe, Tupa, VanValkenburg and Bredesen. Manager
Hyde was present to review with the Council the budget which had been formally
presented at the Regular Meeting of the Village Council on August 16, 1965.
Mr, Hite and Mr. Langmack were also present.
Mr. Dalen,
Recommended 1966 Budget was in the amount of $1,838,539 which would mean a Tax Levy
for the Village of 30.56 mills against Real and Personal Property Valuations totalling
$37,683,483.
After a comppehensive review of the proposed budget, it was unanimously agreed that
the Village IjIanager should present a reduced Budget which would result in a smaller rate
increase for further consideration by the Council at a later meeting.
CLAIMS APPROVED.
following claims were approved:
Postmaster, $500 b 00 ; Treasurer, City of Minneapolis , $21,627 61; Blacktop Service
Co., $6,297.23; Village of Edina (Transfer from PIR), $36,500.00; Bi-Lateral Fire Hose
Cob, $97.84; Total, $66,549.86,
Council discussed ways and means of reducing proposed expenditures. I
I Upon motion O€ Rixe, seconded by Tupa and carried unanimously, the

The business of the meeting having been accomplished, axe moved for adjournment. *
