Preliminary approval 6~1d-W granted, Mr. Hoisington added, subject to dedication of Outlot B for the protection of Nine Mile Creek. Mr. Earl Nagen- gast, 5712 Creek Valley Road, urged that the street not be cut through in view of the fact that the developer had lead prospecgive-buyetszto understand that the road pattern would not be changed. Road presented slides showing configurations of the two streets and data which he stated indicated the possible traffic dangers which would exist if the streets should be connected. In'reply to Mr. Benson's contention that the majority of Police vehicles are concentrated to the East of the area and would necessarily have to drive down Creek Valley Road to reach areas farther West, Mayor Bredesen noted that the time will soon come when there will be equal concentra- tion. Discussion ensued as to the route which would be taken by fire and emergency vehicles, whereupon Mr. Hyde pointed out that the Fire Department normally approaches a fire from both sides to facilitate banhecging hoses. Mr. C. L. Singsaaq,'6504 Nordic Drive, urged that: the two roads be connected in order to share the burden of traffic. He noted that a danger exists to children walking to school who must walk in the street. He noted also Confus- ion in locating addresses on Creek Valley Road, pointing out that this problem would be eliminated if the two streets were cbnfiected. 6500 Nordic Drive, noted that a number of property owners are in the audience because of the fact that their children must use this street to walk to school. Mr. Donald Pryor, representing the School District, noted that the school bus cannot go down Creek Valley Road east as it is now, and that children who live in this area go to Cahill School. generated by the park, Councilman Courtney pointed out that children using the park facilities come from all areas of the Village. Mrs. R. D. Benson and llr. R. H. Anderegg both of Creek Valley Road East urged that the streets remain as they were originally constructed. Mayor Bredesen advised that he opposes cutting off nerghborhoods by dead-ending streets and making private areas. request was made by Mr. Benson tliat marked crosswalks, school patrols, sidewalks on the school side and playground fences be installed to protect children no matter which Plan is approved. Johnson noted that he is persuaded that it would be in the best interest of the new plat. res.identsto have access from both directions and that a more equitable distribution of traffic would exist if the street should be cut through. He thereupon offered the following resolution approving preliminary plat of Creek View Heights Addition as follows :as recommended by Police and Fire Departments : BE IT RESOLVED by the Edina Village Council that that certain plat entitled "Creek View Heights Addition", platted by Seven Associates, Inc., which includes the extention of Creek Valley Road to the easterly extremities thereof where it will connect to the existing Creek Valley Road, and presented at the Meeting of the Village Council of Nay's, 1969, be and is hereby granted preliminary approval, subject, however, to the dedication of Outlot B to the Village of Edina for Nine Nile Creek protection.
