Members answering rollcall were Councilmen Courtney, Johnson, Shaw and VanValken-
burg who sdrved as Mayor Pro Tem in the absence of Mayor Bredesen.
MINUTES of February 16, 1970, were approved as amended by motion of Councilman
JQhnson, seconded by Councilman Courtney and carried.
Councilman Johnson had expressed concern about the height of/proposed building
on the Halla property and had inquired of Messrs. Halla and Ibs whether they
would consider some limitation o'n height less than eight stories. They said
the question would be considered and an answer given at or prior to the
Second Reading of Ordinance No. 261-190.

such District, the rules and regulations applicable in the District shall be

the February 16th meeting presents any legal impediment to the proposal that
the Village would deed the extended buffer strip to the abutting land owners
on the-condition that the requisite number of releases are executed and deliv-
ered to the Village by the owners of the 20 lots for whose benefit the restrict-
ions were imposed. Mr. Hoisington advised that Mr. William J. Rupert, 4905
Maple Road, had said that residents i'n the area are having their attorney look
at Mr. Whitlock's opinion and that if he concurs with Mr. Whitlock, Mr. Rupert
will use his influence to pursuade.other5:residents to work with the Village.

OSCAR ROBERTS HEARING BEFORE BOARD OF APPEALS SET FOR MARCH 19.

maximum rates for conveyance in taxicabs in the Village of Edina shall be est-
ablished as follows :
