Edina City Council met in special session at 9:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers
of the Edina City Hall immediately following the adjournment of the Board of
Review.
Mayot Van Valkenburg expressed his concern about whether Edina (and Hennepin County
&ties generally) are using higher property market.values than either Anoka
or Ramsey Counties. In response to a question of Mayor Van Valkenburg, Mr. Swan-
son said that if the total of the market values for the City is reduced by Council
by more than 1%, then none of the actions taken to reduce those values are effect-
ive.

Kenneth Wanner had called on June 7, 1977, asking that he be given'an opportunity
to purchase the City land between the Wanner property and Our Lady of Grace
Catholic Church and that the City release the easement it owns through the Wanner
property. There was general concensus that the agreement approved by the Council
on June 6, 1977, to sell the land and the easement to the Church for church use
should 3e honored.

WHEREAS, a major portion of Crosstown Highway, County State Aid Eighway 62,
through the City of Edina, has not yet been treated for noise abatement by the
application of an asphalt overlay;
NOW,,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edina that
the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners be requested to extend the Crosstown
Highway at least to Interstate 494 and to resurface the Crosstown Highway within
the City of Edina to effect greatly needed noise reduction.
Motion for adoption of the resolution was seconded by Councilwoman Schmidt.
