OF THE EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HALL 4:30 P.M. SEPTMBER 20, 1978 Answering rollcall were members Richards, Schmidt, Shaw, and Mayor Van Valkenburg. Councilman Courtney arrived later in the meeting during the Human Relations budget discussion. Mr. Ray O'Connell presented the budget request of the Human Relations Commission, advising that $2,000 of the $5,850 budget request included $2,000 for consultants' services. Present also were Messrs. Tom Oye, Richard Nahoney, SteveLepinski and MS. Marlene Ostegard. Hr. Rosland clarified that money for Project CHarlie is spent for chemical dependency programs in the Edina schools. Councilwoman Schmidt advised that the Police work quite closely with Youth Action and feel that it is a worth while organization. Storefront/Youth Action should be as high as the shaie paid by Richfield and Bloom- kgton 6.nd that Eden Prairte should also pay its share) inasmuch as Edina contri- butes fewer cas&s.
