Mr. Rosland advised Council of a request of William%. Kirsch for con- tinuation of the William and Bernice Jackson hearing on their appeal from the Board of Appeals and Adjustments decision from January 8, 1979 to February 5, 1979. Mr. Rosland said that he would check to find out if the Jacksons would agree to the change of date and use his discretion on the request. COMPENSATION FOR OTHER THPN FULL TIME EMPLOYEES APPROVED. Mr. Rosland recommended a new system to be used to determinepay scales for those City employees who are not regular full time employees and emphasized that pay rates will be determined at the discretion of the individual's supervisor under the new system. Mr. Rosland, Councilman Shaw's motion was seconded .. by Councilman Richards approving the following wage schedules for 19 79 : YEAR ROUND EMPLOYEES As recommended by - I. For seasonal work, the steps equate to one season. seasonal job at a rate'fos more-than six months, the full time supervisor can recommend to the City IIanager an increase to the next step. steps will be reviewed at six month intervals. Council was advised by Mr. Rosland that the Farmers -& Mechanics Bank have indicated their willingness to purchase a bus or a van to be Gsed f,or transportation for senior citizens or the handicapped. The City Manager will make his recommendation at a later date. Dalen , Councilman Sliaw s motion approving STatement of Estimated Espenditures and Recommended Transfers for the Year Ending December 31, 1978, was seconded by CounciJwoman Schmidt. Ayes : Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Shaw, Van Valkenburg Nays: 'None Mot ion carried. JACK RICE RESIGNATION FROM PARK BOARD NOTED. with regret that Mr. Jack Rice has tendered his resignation from the Park Board. No action was taken. Mayor Van Valkenburg announced ' HEALTH SERVICES DISCUSSED. Mr. Rosland advised that he will continue to look into various alternatives for providing health services for Edina residents and will put specifications together for 1980. No action was taken. Motion of Councilman Shaw was seconded by Councilman Courtney for General Fund, $72,603.53; Ayes: Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Shaw, Van Valkenburg Nays: None Mot ion carried.
