MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING

HFLD'AT CI- HALL ON NOVEMBER 5, 1979
Pursuant to due notice given, the Edina City Council convened in special-session
in the City Hall Conference Room at 4:30 p.m. Members answering rollcall were
Bredesen, Richards and Mayor Van Valkenburg , with Councilman Courtney arriving
shortly thereafter. Present also was Ms. Anita Benda, consultant representa-
tive- for the Southwest Cable Commission.
A list of questions with reference to the Invitation -and.Master Ordinance for a
Joint Cable Comunications System for the Cities of Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins,
mnnetonka and Richfield which had been compiled by the Mayor was discussed and
generally answered. Discussion was held regarding individual ordinances for
each City as compared to one ordinance for all municipalities. At 6:15 p.m.
the Council adjourned the meeting until 8:45 p.m. follo~ing the RBgul.ar8*Ceuncil
Meeting when the Special Meeting was reconvened in the Library of the City Hall.
Councilwoman Schmidt was in attendance at this time. Further discussion of the
Invitation and proposed ordinance was had. It was recommended that Mr. Erickson
work in the direction of individual City ordinances when meeting jointly with
other City Attorneys. No formal action was taken.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m..
