OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HAJ,L
NOVEMBER 10, 1980
The special session of the Edina City Council was called to order at 4:30 p.m.
November 10, 1980, in the Conference Room of Edina City Hall.
Present at rollcall we're Mayor Van Vabkenburg and Council Members Bredes n,
Assistant City Manager Nark Bernhardson and City Attorney Thomas Erickson.
Courtney, Richards and Schmidt. Also present were City Manager Kenneth I l! osland,
The special session was to discuss two items of business which are potential
lawsuits, one of which also includes negotiations for a land sale.
The first was a review of the Crossroads of Edina development. Discussion
was had with Xr. Erickson relative to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority's
(H.R.A.) financial involvement and whether the City was receiving what it anti-
cipated. Also, proposed resolutions by the City Council and H.R.A. were
reviewed. No action was taken.
The second item discussed by Mr. Ericksonwas sale of property to Braemar
Associates and different sale options, together with the current Braemar
Associates' offer. A counter proposal was formulated and Mr. Erickson was
given authority to negotiate further with Braemar Associates based on the
Council discussion.
Also, at the request of Mayor Van Valkenburg, Mr. Rosland reviewed the bid
situation and outlined the plans and costs for City Hall remodeling.
advised that the bids were yet in force. Following discussion, it was agreed
to hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, November 13, 1980, at 5:OO p.m. in the
Conference Room of City Hall to take action ori accepting or rejecting the bids.
