OF THE SPECIAL MEETING ON THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HALL
AUGUST 23, 1982
Pursuant to due notice given, Council met in special session in the Manager's
Conference Room at k:3Q p.m.
Answering rollcall were Members Schmidt, Turner and Mayor .Courtney.
BID AWARDED FOR COMMUNITY CENTER PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENT NO. P-13. Mr. Rosland
presented tabulation of bids received for Parking Lot Paving Improvement NO.
P-13 whkch parking lot is to be constructed adjacent to the Edina Community
Center at Southview Lane and T.H. 100.
bidder at $65,345.00, Bury & Carlson, Inc., at $65,541.62, Doc Blanchard
Enterprises, Inc., at $70,663.55, Asphalt Paving Materials, Inc., at $71,963.47,
Valley Paving, Inc., at $72,774.14, Northwest Asphalt, Inc., at $76,160.89 and
Barber Construction Company at $86,987.50, against Engineer's estimate of
$79,832.00. He clarified that Dr. Leiber, Superincendent of Schools, has
agreed to pay up to $70,000 for the improvement and that the bid does not include
in-kind services to be paid by the City. Member Schmidt's motion for award
to recommended low bidder, Blacktop Service, was seconded by Member Turner.
