City to Hold 50th & France Small Area Plan Community Meeting
Edina, Minn., Aug. 16, 2018 – The City of Edina will hold a Small Area Plan Community Meeting 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd. Community
members are invited to attend to learn more and share feedback on the study of downtown Edina.
The small area plan will provide guidance for important issues like redevelopment, streetscape and aesthetic
treatment, vehicle parking, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities for the 50th & France area. The small area plan
is being completed as part of a City-wide Comprehensive Plan update and is being led by a Small Area Plan
Working Group, made up of area residents.
“I encourage anyone interested to join us at this meeting. Community Meetings are an important part of our
study process and we really benefit from hearing feedback from the community at large,” said Assistant City
Planner Kris Aaker.
The Community Meeting is a chance for community members to share their vision for the future of the 50th &
France area. Attendees will also learn more about the study, review the draft vision statement and provide
ideas on preliminary design concepts.
