Explorers Post No. 925 Recruits New Participants
Edina, Minn., Sept. 9, 2018 – Edina/Eden Prairie Explorers Post No. 925 will hold its first informational
meeting for potential new participants at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the South Metro Public Safety
Training Facility, 7525 Braemar Blvd.
“The Explorers is a great program, especially if you’re interested in law enforcement in the future,” said Patrol
Officer Nicole Frederick, who serves as one of the group’s advisors. “Even if you don’t end up studying it,
though, it’s a great program to help better your skills with dealing with others and building yourself to get
ready for college.”
Explorers Post No. 925 meets every Tuesday night and participates in various conferences, including the
National Explorer Conference every-other year. In weekly meetings, participants learn more about all aspects
of law enforcement through hands-on experiences. Topics include burglary response, first aid, search and
arrest, white collar crime, hostage negotiations, interview and interrogation and more.
“It’s a fun program to meet new kids,” Frederick added. “We shoot at the gun range and have a lot of
inspirational speakers.”
Edina/Eden Prairie Post No. 925 is open to young men and women ages 14 through 20 with an interest in
learning more about a career in law enforcement. The youngest members must have completed eighth grade
before joining.
