Walk With the Mayor Scheduled for Oct. 20
Edina, Minn., Oct. 4, 2018 – The October Walk With the Mayor is scheduled for 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct.
20. The walk will be held at Grandview Square Park. Participants should meet at the entrance of the Edina
Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square.
“The Grandview area is a wonderful place to spend time to look at the public art and visit the library or Edina
Senior Center. We have a number of beautiful pieces of art located at Grandview Square park, including ‘Lost
in Space’ and ‘Large Stone Mobile #2.’ Both of these pieces were winners in the 2017-2018 People’s Choice
Awards,” said Mayor Jim Hovland.
Participating in the Walk with the Mayor gives community members a chance to voice concerns, share
opinions and thoughts as well as just talk with Hovland while getting to know the city a little bit better. No
prior registration is required to attend Walk With the Mayor; simply show up at the designated meeting time
to walk and talk with Hovland.
Upcoming walks include:
9-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Braemar Field walking path
9-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Southdale Center; meet near the Caribou Coffee in center court
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. In the event of rain, the walk
will be held at Southdale Center; participants should meet near the Caribou Coffee in the center court. For
