The adult tape ball cricket league will be recreational and co-ed, with games played Friday and Saturday evenings May 4-June 1 under the lights at Braemar Field, 7509 Ikola Way. Tape ball cricket is a shorter, more relaxed version of the sport. It’s played with a tennis ball wrapped in electrical tape, making the ball easier to hit, and doesn’t need an official cricket pitch. Games will be one hour, with each team having eight players. “People are already playing the sport, so we wanted to be able to offer it to them,” said Recreation Supervisor Tiffany Bushland. “For other people, it’s a new sport to try.” The league is open to current cricket players and newcomers alike. No uniforms are required. Equipment will be provided at the games. Registration closes April 24. Players can be added to rosters through May 10.
