Walk With the Mayor Scheduled for March 16
Edina, Minn., March 7, 2019 – The March Walk With the Mayor is scheduled for 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday,
March 16. The walk will be held at Southdale Center, 10 Southdale Center.
“Southdale Center was the first fully enclosed, temperature-controlled and multi-level shopping center. You’ll
be able to read more about its history in the upcoming Spring issue of About Town. Plenty has changed since
the mall was constructed in 1956, but it’s still a much-loved shopping center in our region. Join me there this
month at our March Walk With the Mayor,” said Mayor Jim Hovland.
Participating in the Walk with the Mayor gives community members a chance to voice concerns, share
opinions and thoughts as well as just talk with Hovland while getting to know the city a little bit better. No
prior registration is required to attend Walk With the Mayor; simply show up at the designated meeting time
to walk and talk with Hovland.
Summer walks during the months of June, July and August will be held during the week to accommodate busy
weekend schedules Upcoming walks include:
9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 50th & France, Edina Landmark Theater
9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, Centennial Lakes Park, Hughes Pavilion
6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, Bredesen Park
6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, Braemar Golf Course
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes. For more information or to suggest a location for a
