Others Present:
The Edina City Council held a closed meeting on Thursday, August 13, 1987.at
4:45 p.m. for the purpose of discussing potential claims and litigation concerning
damage resulting from the storm on Thursday, July 23, 1987.
City Staff and City Attorney
An update on the storm damage and the emergency plan which had been approved by
the Council on July 27, 1987 was given by Manager Rosland.
Edina is included in the major disaster area declared by President Reagan and that
residents are being advised of the process in applying for public assistance.
Under the declaration, the City will be able to apply for reimbursement for up to
90% of expenses incurred resulting from the storm damage to public property.
Engineer Fran Hoffman reported on the progress of the pumping being done by the
City and Sanitarian Dave Velde advised the Council on the status of private wells
in the City.

The Council was informed of potential claims and lawsuits against the City for
damage to private property incurred because of the storm and flooding.
