HINUTJ3S OF CLOSED MEETING
OF THE EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HALL
APRIL 2, 1990
The Edina City Council held a closed meeting for the purpose of discussing labor
negotiation strategy on April 2, 1990 immediateTy following adjournment of the
Regular Council Meeting.
Present were Members Kelly, Paulus, Rice, Smith and Mayor Richards. Staff in
attendance were Manager Rosland, Assistant to Manager Smith and Clerk Daehn.
Manager Rosland advised that he is in the process of negotiating with the three
bargaining groups, IAFF 1275, Teamsters Local 320 and 49'ers. He presented a
recommendation as to a salary proposal and asked for direction by the Council.
discussion was held on several strategy options and the affect on the current
budget as adopted.
Member Kelly made a motion to authorize the Manager to negotiate a settlement up
to 4% for salaries vith the understanding that if successfully concluded all
non-union employees be given the same increase.

Motion carried.
