OF THE WORK SESSION OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL
JANUARY 6, 2010
5:00 P.M.
Mayor Hovland called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room of City Hall.
Answering rollcall were Members Bennett, Brindle, Housh, Swenson and Mayor Hovland. Mayor
Hovland entered the meeting at 5:20 p.m. Also attending when persons were being interviewed for
their respective board or commission were: Chris Rofidal, Heritage Preservation Board Chair; Russ
Stanton, Human Rights and Relations Commission Chair; Todd Fronek, Park Board Chair; and Geof
Workinger, Transportation Commission Chair. City Manager Hughes was also in attendance.
Mayor Hovland stated the purpose of the meeting was to interview applicants for appointment to the
various City Council Advisory Boards, Committees and Commissions.
The following candidates for appointment were interviewed: Ruth Valgemae, Damaria (Dee) Moore,
Gene Flicek, Bill Alldredge, Peter Roose, Louise Segreto, Claudia Carr, Carl Gulbronson, Katherine
Bronner, Steven E. Carlson, Nathan Franzen and Douglas Mezera. It was noted that Kumar Belani
was absent for his interview. Staff will follow up and reschedule for January 19, 2010.
There being no further business, Mayor Hovland adjourned the meeting at 7:10 p.m.
