CITY OF EDINA HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 2019-06 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE EDINA CITY CODE CONCERNING RENTAL LICENSING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on June 18, 2019, Ordinance No. 2019-06 was adopted by the City Council of the City of Edina, Min- nesota. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, due to the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. 2019-06, the fol- lowing summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication and approved by the City Council as authorized by state law. Chapter 10 of the City Code was amended by adding Article XVIII to include Rental Licensing. The purpose of this Article is to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of rental dwellings in the City of Edina and to ensure that rental housing in the city is safe, sanitary and operated and main- tained not to become a nuisance to the neighborhood and community. The intent of this Article is that a permanent mode of protecting and regulating the living conditions of citizens of the city be established; and that uniform standards be established and applicable for all rental dwellings in the city; and to provide a means for imposing li- cense fees to help the City defray the costs necessary for housing inspections and enforcement of this section. This section does not supersede or limit any other appli- cable ordinance or law. This sec- tion applies to all rental dwellings whether or not a valid license is in effect. A printed copy of the whole ordi- nance is available for inspection by any person during the City's regular office hours.
