CITY OF EDINA HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 2019-10 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 20 OF THE EDINA CITY CODE CONCERNING LARGE BUILDING BENCHMARKING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on June 4, 2019, Ordinance No. 2019-10 was adopted by the City Council of the City of Edina, Min- nesota. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, due to the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. 2019-10, the fol- lowing summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication and approved by the City Council as authorized by state law. Chapter 20 was amended by adding Article XI to begin benchmarking energy efficiency of buildings through the collection of data that will be used to compare energy use of liked buildings and understanding the efficiency of a building compared to its peers. Beginning August 1, 2019, all city-owned properties, beginning June 1, 2020 all Class 1 and 2 covered properties, and beginning June 1, 2021, all Class 3 covered properties shall be bench- marked for the previous calendar year and obtain an energy perfor- mance score. The property owner shall annually provide benchmark- ing information to the Director and the information shall be made avail- able to the public. A printed copy of the whole ordi- nance is available for inspection by any person during the City's regular office hours.
