Author to Discuss How To Decode Facial Expressions
Edina, Minn., May 28, 2019 – Can you determine people’s emotions just by looking at their faces?
Dan Hill will share the science of expressions 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, during the Author’s Studio at the Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St.
Hill, author of Famous Faces Decoded: A Guidebook for Reading Others, will talk about how 23 facial expressions correspond to seven core emotions: happiness, surprise, anger, fear, sadness,
disgust and contempt.
The free event is good for artists who do figurative painting, photographers or those just curious about how to read the feelings of others in social situations or while watching the
news. Hill will draw on examples from Hollywood, music, sports, politics, business and even from paintings.
Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing after his talk.
The Author’s Studio features presentations and discussions with authors of fiction, science, memoir, self-help and more. All are free and held at the Edina Art Center.
Upcoming Author’s Studio events include:
Amy Hallberg, German Awakening: Tales from an American Life, Sept. 14
Colin Nelson, Ivory Lust, Oct. 12
Amy Pendino, The Witness Tree, Nov. 9
Jennifer Bierma, A Life Lived Medium: A Psychic’s Journey from Fearful to Almost Fearless, Dec. 14
