City Seeks Volunteers for Housing Task Force
Edina, Minn., May 8, 2019 – The City of Edina seeks volunteers for its new Housing Task Force. The Task Force will assist in the development of a comprehensive housing strategy for
the community.
“The Task Force will be created to look at the current housing stock and determine where there are gaps in the housing that is needed both in regard to cost as well as the type,” said
Affordable Housing Development Manager Stephanie Hawkinson.
The Task Force will be responsible for gathering public input on individual experiences with housing in Edina, studying other communities’ efforts and best practices, and reviewing past
City studies and initiatives, including the 2006 Housing Succession Plan.
The Task Force will meet at least monthly until the housing strategy recommendation has been adopted by the Council, which is expected to happen in December.
Applications for the Task Force are due Tuesday, May 28. Members will be appointed by the City Council June 4. Those interested can apply online at EdinaMN.gov/Volunteer.
For more information, contact Hawkinson at 952-833-9578.
