Progress Report: In keeping with the Duties of the Arts and Culture Commission stated in Ordinance No. 2013 -5, the Commission will
encourage leadership and advocacy to advance the role and value of art and culture in Edina, and also identify potential sources of funding for
these new initiatives.

Progress Report: The Author's Studio began in Jan. 2012 with 5 local authors and 18 -20 guests in attendance. Now in its 4`h season, 30 -45
participants enjoy the conversation with increased book & Art Center Gift Shop sales. Partnership with The Loft Literary Center and their
program Loft Around Town began in July 2013 with Creative Writing Classes. Screenwriting, children's book writing classes continue to be
offered in 2013 with memoir, creative writing, and others to be offered in 2014 by the Art Center and in partnership with The Loft.

Progress Report: The Edina Art Center Working Group will continue several of the previous duties of the Edina Art Center Board, including
oversight of Fees & Charges, Art Center Membership, Art Center Juried Show, Fundraising & Grant Initiatives alone and in partnership with the
Edina Community Foundation and other funding sources. The Working Group will also assist the Art Center with marketing strategies in
partnership with the Department of Communications for the City.
Edina Public Art Committee — EPAC - Funding Request for $12,500 for 2014 Annual Public Art Exhibit - Installation completed by 06/14/2014
EPAC is working to create public /private partnerships to purchase and exhibit public art. Support of the City would be appreciated to defray cost
for installation and de- installation of sculptural work along the Edina Promenade. The Public Art Committee is also discussing a possible name

Park Board Duties: Serve on working groups and subcommittees with consultants, staff and residents to evaluate City needs to
identify, prioritize and develop a plan to address strategic uses relating to policies, facilities, programming and financial and
personnel resources. A subcommittee has already been established including Members Deeds, Cella, Steel, Segreto and Jones.
$60,000 is budgeted in the 2013 CIP. At the completion, the Park Board will provide review and comment on the strategic plan. The
City Council will have the final approval of the strategic plan.

The Planning Commission is responsible to review all Land Use applications submitted to the City of Edina. Land Use applications include:
Variances; Site Plan Review; Sketch Plan Review; Conditional Use Permits; Subdivision; Lot Line Adjustments; Rezoning; and Comprehensive Plan
Amendments.
To accomplish this responsibility the Planning Commission meets twice per month, on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. The
Planning Commission typically reviews 3 -4 of the above requests each agenda.
Proposed Month for Joint Work Session:
We anticipate 2014 as another very busy year for development. We will try to
accomplish as much as we can outside of our usual "ongoing responsibilities."
