Since your letter of August 13th in reply to our letter
to MrS Nelson, Clerk, as of duly 16th about State Deed #31g60,
we have concluded to issue a corrected deedo inclosed is Deed
#81699 in correction of Deed #319605
Deed #91699 conveys for drainage purposes in addition
to the use already made of the property in removing clay* Be-
cause of an error in Deed $31960 due partly to our own oversight
we believe that this matter can be more satisfactorily closed
by the issuance of a corrected deed.

CONVEYANCE OF FORFEITED LANDS
Issued pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 1945, Section 282.01, Subdivision 1.
THIS INDENTURE, made this 20th day of October 194 8 , between the
State of Minnesota, as party of the first part, and VILLAGE OF AKRNINGSIDE, a Munici-
-4&1_Corporation, , as party of the second part, WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the land hereinafter described was duly forfeited to the State of Minnesota for the
nonpayment of taxes, and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 1945, Section 282.01, Subdivision 1, the party of the
second part has applied to the Commissioner of Taxation for the conveyance of lands hereinafter described
to be used by it exclusively for removal of clay for -public uses incident to levelling
public playgrounds elsewhere-OR Village property, and for drainage purp.Qass, , and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of HENNEPIN ,
State of Minnesota, has recommended to the Commissioner of Taxation by resolution adopted on
the 14th day of September 19 42 , that such conveyance be made,
NOW, THEREFORE, The State of Minnesota, pursuant to said laws and in consideration of the
premises, does hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the party of the second part, forever, all
the tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the County of HEMPIN , State of
Minnesota, described as follows, to -wit:
Lots twenty -four (24) and twenty -five (25),
Village of Morningside,
This deed is issued in correction of State Deed No. 31x60. Deed 31660 con-
veyed this property for the public purpose only of "removing clay for
public uses incident to leveling public playgrounds elsewhere on village
property ". The supporting resolution and application of the village council
of Morningside stated that in addition to the above purposes this property
was also desired for "drainage purposes".
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD THE SAME, together with all the hereditaments and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, to the said party of the second part so long as it
shall continue to use said land for the purposes aforesaid, and upon condition that if such use shall
cease said land shall revert to the party of the first part as provided by law.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the State of Minnesota, party of the first part, has caused this
deed to be executed in its name by the Commissioner of Taxation at his offices in the City of St. Paul,
Ramsey County, Minnesota, the day and year first above writtep.
