FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bullying Prevention Event with Children’s Book Author Nancy
Carlson slated for Feb. 8
Edina, Minn., Jan. 10, 2014 – The Edina Human Rights & Relations Commission (HRRC) and the Friends of
the Edina Library invite families with children kindergarten-age and older to an Edina Reads program focusing
on bullying prevention. The event will feature nationally known children’s author and Edina native Nancy
Carlson. She will read from her book, Henry and the Bully, and facilitate a discussion on the subject.
“Incidents of bullying or fear of bullying have been reported by even the youngest of children in Grades K-5. It
is never too soon to talk to our children about respecting their fellow classmates, so we are dedicating this
year’s annual anti-bullying event to elementary school-age students,” said Leslie Lagerstrom, HRRC
Committee Chair.
The program takes place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Edina Senior Center Fireside Room, 5280
Grandview Square, Edina, Minn., 55436.
The first 75 families will receive a free, autographed copy of Carlson’s book, Henry and the Bully.
