Police remind residents to remove valuables, lock vehicles at
Bredesen Park
Edina, Minn., Jan. 8, 2014 — Due to an increase in thefts from vehicles at Bredesen Park, 5901
Olinger Blvd., the Edina Police Department reminds residents to lock their vehicles and remove all
valuables.
Since Oct. 1, 2013, there have been 10 thefts from vehicles at Bredesen Park. All have occurred during
the day and windows were broken to gain entrance into the vehicles. In nine of the 10 incidents, a purse
or wallet was reported stolen.
“If you must keep valuables in your car, place them in the trunk of your vehicle before you arrive at
your destination,” said Crime Prevention Specialist Molly Anderson.
The Edina Police Department has increased patrol in the area and encourages visitors to immediately
call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.
