FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Police K-9s to take part in demonstration
Edina, Minn., April 10, 2014 – During the 2014 National K-9 Detector Trials, the public is invited to
attend a free K-9 demonstration 7 p.m. Monday, May 5 at Kuhlman Field, 5701 Normandale Road.
“We encourage families to come to the event for an up-close look at how police K-9s work,” said Officer
Mike Seeger, whose partner is K-9 Diesel. “This is also a rare opportunity for people to see police K-9s from
all over the country.”
More than 100 police K-9s and their handlers are expected to participate in the event, where K-9s will
demonstrate agility, apprehension and odor detection. After the event, participants will be available for a meet
and greet.
The Edina Police Department and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Police Department are
hosting this year’s Trials, which will take place May 4-7 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and in
Edina.
Seeger and Diesel along with Officer Jason Behr and his K-9, Blade, will participate in the Trials.
