City receives ‘Gold Screen’ Award
Edina, Minn., June 13, 2014 –The National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) recently
announced that “Enterprise Edina” received a Gold Screen Award in the 2014 national competition.
The awards were announced June 12 during a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
In the “public affairs program” category, “Enterprise Edina” received a first-place Gold Screen Award. The
U.S. Geological Survey placed second and the City of Olathe, Kansas, won a third-place Award of Excellence.
“Enterprise Edina” is hosted by Edina Chamber of Commerce President Lori Syverson and showcases the
businesses and people behind them that make Edina a great community for commerce. New episodes air on
the 15th of each month and are rebroadcast daily at 2:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
The City also received four Awards of Excellence in the competition for its internal newsletter, City Slick;
Braemar Arena brochure; a public service announcement about finding water leaks in your home; and website,
www.EdinaMN.gov.
The NAGC Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards Competition salutes superior communications efforts of
government agencies and recognizes the people who create the products. All levels of government were
represented in the competition, from federal to local agencies. More than 325 entries in 41 categories were
received and judges by a panel of experts and merited a total of 40 first-place, 34 second-place and 71Awards of
Excellence. The City received more awards in 2014 than ever before from NAGC.
