Parks & Recreation Introduces Disc Golf Lessons
Edina, Minn., Aug. 21, 2014 – The City of Edina Parks & Recreation Department is now offering disc golf
lessons for anyone 12 and older who is interested.
“We are excited to offer disc golf lessons for the first time in Edina,” said Recreation Supervisor Kristin
Aarsvold. “Twin Cities’ top-rated disc golf players will be teaching about the game and course etiquette.”
Disc golf is one of the fastest growing and most affordable sports in America. It can be played by all age levels
and abilities and has tournaments world-wide.
The City will offer three different levels to accommodate various abilities:
Level 1 is designed for new players looking to grasp the basic rules and concepts of the game.
Level 2 is geared toward intermediate players having completed Level 1 and/or players who have been
playing for a year or two.
Level 3 is for advanced players looking to play at a more competitive level. Participants in this level
must have completed Level 2 or be admitted with prior consent.
“Disc Golf is great family sport. Everyone can play and the course at Rosland Park is the perfect place to learn
new skills or improve your current game,” said Aarsvold.
Try something new this Fall. Sign up with a friend, mom or dad or even grandma or grandpa! Registration
deadline is Monday, Sept. 1. Classes are limited to 30 students. Lessons will be held at Rosland Park, 4300 W.
66th St., starting in September.
