Thursday, October 8, 2020 7:00 PM I.Call To Order Chair Martinez called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM. II.Roll Call Answering roll call were Chair Martinez and Commissioners Horan, Hussian, Jackson, Manser, Seeley, Lanzas, and Student Commissioners Mans and Densmore. Absent: Commissioner Dakane Late arrivals: Student Commissioner Martinez arrived at 7:39 PM. III.Approval Of Meeting Agenda Motion by Carolyn Jackson to Approve October 8, 2020, Meeting Agenda. Seconded by Richard Manser. Motion Carried. IV.Approval Of Meeting Minutes Motion by Bayardo Lanzas to Approve September 10, 2020 Minutes. Seconded by Melissa Seeley. Motion Carried. V.Special Recognitions And Presentations A.Welcome New Sustainability Coordinator Sustainability Coordinator, Grace Hancock, introduced herself to the commission. VI.Reports/Recommendations A.2020 Work Plan Updates Commission discussed ideas for the Farmer's Market, which included educational materials for the public. Staff Liaison Lamon will check what the City is doing for outreach marketing materials. Commissioner Horan gave an update that a City branded Green Business application has been created to send via direct mail or e-mail. Staff Liaison Lamon will follow-up with making the application viewable on the Edina website and adding a contact phone number. Initiative 5 with PARC has been completed. Initiative 4 and 6 have been put on hold due to COVID-19. VII.Chair And Member Comments Chair Martinez updated the Commission about the 2021 Proposed Work Plan presentation to the City Council. She mentioned some initiatives overlap with other commissions. Student Commissioners Densmore and Mans discussed the current COVID-19 lunch procedures at Edina High School and how composting has been affected. Student Commissioner Martinez arrived at 7:39 PM. Student Commissioner Martinez stated that solar panels have been installed and there are plans to begin a sustainability plan for the school and district. VIII.Staff Comments No additional comments were made. IX.Adjournment Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM. Motion by Carolyn Jackson to Adjourn the Meeting. Seconded by Bayardo Lanzas. Motion Carried.
