RESOLUTION NO. 2020-127
AUTHORIZATION TO PARTICIPATE IN HENNEPIN COUNTY’S
BUSINESS DISTRICT RECOVERY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Edina was selected to participate in Hennepin County’s Business District Recovery
Program after the City submitted a Letter of Interest in response to a public solicitation; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County has contracted with Forecast Public Art to create outdoor exhibits and outdoor
programming in public spaces and has also contracted with Mod & Company, LLC to create the “Love Local” media
campaign to benefit multiple business districts, including 50th & France, as they cope with the economic impact resulting
from the Covid-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, the contractors have taken steps to implement the Program to benefit the 89 businesses located in
the 50th and France Business District primarily through in-kind work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Edina City Council hereby authorizes participation in
Hennepin County’s Business District Recovery program and authorizes the City Manager to execute agreements on its
behalf and further authorizes City staff to carry out terms of the Program.
