Tim Walz’s Executive Order 20-99, the City of Edina will close its recreational facilities at the conclusion of their operating day on Friday, Nov. 20, and cancel or postpone in-person classes and events for at least four weeks. Executive Order 20-99 put a pause on adult and youth sports, gatherings outside of a household, fitness gyms and pools, indoor and outdoor events and entertainment, and other activities that bring people together. The following facilities will be closed through at least Friday, Dec. 18: Braemar Arena, 7501 Ikola Way Braemar Field, 7509 Ikola Way Braemar Golf Dome, 7420 Braemar Blvd. Edinborough Park, 7700 York Ave. S. In-person Parks & Recreation classes and events scheduled to begin through Dec. 18 have been canceled or postponed. If you registered for an event or class, more specific information will be communicated soon from Parks & Recreation staff. City parks, trails and open spaces remain open and virtual or self-guided activities can be viewed at Edinamn.Maxgalaxy.net or EdinaParks.com. When using Edina parks, please avoid gathering with those outside of your household, follow social distancing and masking guidelines, and stay home if you are sick. The following facilities remain closed to the public: Edina City Hall, Public Works & Parks Maintenance Facility, Edina Senior Center, Edina Art Center and Hughes Pavilion at Centennial Lakes Park. The City continues to monitor the situation surrounding the pandemic to protect the health and safety of the community. Before facilities and in-person classes and events resume, the current guidance will be carefully evaluated.
