On June 30, 1981 the Minnesota Municipal. Board received resolutions from the
City of Bloomington which requested the detachment of certain property and the City
of Edina which requested the annexation of the same territory pursuant to Minnesota
Statutes 414.061.
After review of the resolutions, the Minnesota Municipal Board hereby makes
and files the following Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Order.
FINDINGS OF FACT
1. That a resolution supporting detachment of certain properties was received
from the City of Bloomington and a resolution supporting annexation of said property
was received from the City of Edina.
2. The resolutions contained all the information required by statute including
a description of the territory proposed for detachment which is as follows:.
The following described land in the County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota:
That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 18, Township
116, Range 21, lying North of the Northerly right -of -way line of Interstate
Highway Number 494, said Northerly right -of -way line is described as follows:
Commenci g.at the Northwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 18;
thence on a bearing of South along the West line of said Northwest Quarter a
distance of 929.14 feet; thence North 88 degrees 10 minutes 30 seconds East a
distance of 1411.95 feet; thence North 1 degree 49 minutes 30 seconds West a
distance of 330 feet to a point hereinafter referred to as point "A "; thence
North 59 degrees 17 minutes 55 seconds West to its intersection with the Wes.t
line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 18;
said intersection being the actual point of beginning of the Northerly right -
of -way line to be described; thence South 59 degrees 17-minutes 55 seconds East
to said point. "A "; thence South 73.degrees 02minutes 49 seconds East a distance
of 528.11 feet; thence South 88 degrees 00 minutes 39 seconds East a distance of
150.3? feet; thence North 88 degrees 10 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of
71.57 feet; thence Easterly along a tengential curve to the left, having a
radius of- 7489.44 feet, to the East line of said Northeast-Quarter of the North-
west Quarter and there terminating; and
that part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 18, Town-
ship 116,-Range 21,-described as beginning at the Northwest corner of said North-
west Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; thence East along the North line of said
Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, a distance of 675 feet; thence South
parallel with-the West line of said Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter,
to the Northerly right -of -way _line of Interstate Highway Number 494, as des-
cribed in Book 2354 of Deeds, page 169, office of the Rigister of Deeds, Henne-
pin County, Minnesota, thence Westerly along said Northerly right -of -way line to

The above area is more particukirly described as:
All of Braewood Park, Herrnepi.:r County, Minnesota, except those portions
shown on said plat as dedicated right -of -way for Interstate Highway No.
494 and 78th Street.
3. The area proposed for detachment is situated within the City of
Bloomington and abuts the municipal boundary of the City of Edina.
CONCLUSIONS OF LAW
I. The Minnesota Municipal Board duly acquired and now has jurisdiction
of ''.he within proceeding.
2. An order should be issued by the Minnesota Municipal Board concurrently
detaching and annexing the area described herein.
O R D E R
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED: That the property described herein be, and
the same hereby is, detached from the City of Bloomington and annexed to the
City of Edina, the same as if it had originally been made a part thereof.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED: That the effective date of this order is
July 15, 1981 at 5 o'clock p.m. CDT.
