Police Explorers Hosting Open House on Sept. 21
Edina, Minn., Sep. 14, 2021 – The Edina/Eden Prairie Explorers Post No. 925 welcomes potential new members to an open house and informational meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at
the South Metro Public Safety Training Facility, 7525 Braemar Blvd.
The Explorers program provides educational training for young adults, ages 14-20, on the purposes, mission and objectives of law enforcement. The program provides career orientation
experiences, leadership opportunities and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to
challenge them to become responsible residents of their communities.
“Explorers is a great program for youth who are interested in law enforcement or even those who are not interested in law enforcement but are pursuing a career in crime scene or law,”
said Detective Nicole Frederick, who serves as an advisor. “The Explorer program will provide life skills, volunteer opportunities and leadership.”
Explorers meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the South Metro Public Safety Training Facility. The weekly meetings focus on all aspects of law enforcement,
including crime scene processing, burglary response, first aid, search and arrest, white-collar crime, hostage negotiations, interviewing and interrogation and more.
No registration is necessary to attend the open house. Those interested in formally joining the Explorers Post can sign up online by visiting www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=813957559.
