Edina Liquor to Host Shredding Event for VEAP
Edina, Minn., Oct. 2, 2014 – Edina Liquor will hold a paper-shredding event in conjunction with its month-
long food drive to help raise money and food for the local food shelf of Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People
(VEAP), a non-profit agency serving low-income, senior and disabled people in Edina, Bloomington, Richfield
and South Minneapolis.
The event will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25 at Edina Liquor – Southdale, 6755 York Ave. S.
“The reason we do it is so people can get rid of important documents in a safe environment,” said Liquor
Operations Director Steve Grausam. “Because we don’t charge for the shredding, it’s also give people a
chance to donate to VEAP.”
Everyone is invited to bring personal and confidential documents for shredding on-site for free, though a
donation to VEAP is encouraged. Those who donate five non-perishable food items or make a cash donation
to VEAP will receive a 10 percent off coupon for Edina Liquor.
“It’s a good way to give back, and a win-win for everyone,” said Grausam. “We keep paper out of the landfills,
help people de-clutter and help [those] who are less fortunate.”
