Fireworks, Parade Highlight Independence Day Activities
Edina, Minn., June 22, 2022 – After a two-year absence, the skies above Edina will light up again as part of the annual Fourth of July festivities.
The Edina Community Foundation is once again partnering with the City for the holiday weekend, beginning Sunday, July 3. Continuing a tradition started in 1970, the First John Philip
Sousa Memorial Band will play a special Independence Day concert starting at 8:45 p.m. at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St. That concert will be preceded by a fife-and-drum performance
at 8 p.m.
Following the concert, the fireworks show will take place after dark. Fireworks were sponsored by Crown Bank.
The next morning, the annual Fourth of July Parade begins at 10 a.m. behind Edina City Hall and follows West 50th Street to the intersection with Market Street. An estimated 20,000 people
view the parade in person. Bleachers will not be available this year. Parade viewers are allowed to set up chairs or blankets in advance of the parade, but are asked to avoid blocking
sidewalks.
Those who can’t make it to the parade can still enjoy the festivities by watching the broadcast live on Edina TV and Facebook Live. It will also be rebroadcast on Edina TV throughout
the month until July 26, on Mondays at 8 p.m., Tuesdays at 4 a.m. and noon, Thursdays at 10 p.m., and Fridays at 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.

City offices, along with the Edina Senior Center and Edinborough Park, will be closed on Monday, July 4. Other facilities have modified holiday hours, listed below:
Braemar Arena – closing at 1 p.m.
Braemar Golf Course – closing at 3 p.m. (last Academy round at 2 p.m.)
Edina Liquor – closing at 6 p.m.
