ORDINANCE NO. 2022-09
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 10 AND 20
OF THE EDINA CITY CODE CONCERNING
SWIMMING POOL AND FOOD ESTABLISHMENT LICENSING
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDINA ORDAINS:
Section 1. Chapter 10, Building and Building Regulations, Article XI: Swimming Pools and
Chapter 20, Health and Environment, Article V, Food Establishments are amended as follows:
Sec. 10-488. Public pools.
This section established operation and maintenance, design, installation and construction standard
for public pools and facilities related to them.
(1) Construction and operation. Any public pool shall be constructed and operated in accordance
with Minn. Stats. § 144.1222, Minn. Stats. ch. 157 and Minnesota Rules parts 4717.0150
through 4717.39750. Plans to construct a new public pool or remodel an existing pool must
be submitted to the state department of health for formal plan review and approval prior to
any work being done. No person shall construct, alter, remodel, improve or repair a pool
without first obtaining required permits from the building official. All variance requests must
be submitted to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Sec. 20-322. Minnesota Food Code.
Minn. Stats. ch. 157, except for section 157.16 subd. 2(a), and Minnesota Rules ch. 4626, except for
part 4626.0033, Subpart G-O and all future revisions thereof, are hereby adopted by reference and
made a part of this article except where they are specifically amended by this division.
Sec. 20-387. - Standards adopted by reference.
Minn. Stats. ch. 157 and Minn. Stats. Ch. 327 and Minnesota Rules Ch. 4625, except Minnesota Rules §
4625.2300, and all future revisions thereof, are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as a
section of this Code. One copy marked "Official Copy" is on file in the office of the clerk and shall
remain on file for use and examination by the public.
Section 2. This ordinance is effective immediately upon its passage and publication.
