FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Residents invited to help City determine how to ‘Finance the
Future’
Edina, Minn., April 25, 2013 –As work begins on the City of Edina’s 2014-2015 budget, officials are teaming
up with the Citizens League to host three “Financing the Future” sessions to gather input on important future
financial decisions.
During the unique sessions, residents will have an opportunity to learn about the City’s budget while providing
feedback on topics such as financing capital improvement needs and economic development support for private
business. As an added bonus, each event will be paired with an activity that highlights City services.
“Having conversations with residents is an important part of the City’s budget process and provides the City
Council with insight about the community’s priorities. These events are meant to be a fun, interactive opportunity
for residents to weigh in on the future of our community,” said City Manager Scott Neal.
The sessions are:
June 11 - Edina Bingo
Come learn about the City of Edina and how it functions in a fun interactive bingo style setting. Residents will
have a chance to play bingo and earn fun prizes while providing input on budget priorities.
Edina Bingo will take 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, in the Fireside Room of the Edina Senior Center, 5280
Grandview Square.
June 13 - Wine Tasting
Come learn about how profits from Edina’s municipal liquor stores help keep our parks clean, roads smooth
and taxes low. Residents 21 and older will be given an opportunity to sample Spanish wines available at Edina
Liquor while providing input on budget priorities.
The Wine Tasting session will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Vallerie Room at Braemar Golf Course, 6364 John
Harris Drive.
June 19 - Family-Friendly Night
Bring your family and explore Parks & Recreation opportunities offered by the City. Children will have an
