Residents Encouraged to ‘Walk With the Mayor’ May 18
Edina, Minn., May 8, 2013 – Edina Mayor Jim Hovland will lead his monthly “Walk with the Mayor” at
Bredesen Park, 5901 Olinger Blvd., Saturday, May 18.
This year, Hovland is leading a monthly two-mile walk the third Saturday morning of every month at varying
locations. Those interested in walking and talking with Hovland this month should meet at 9 a.m. near the
park’s building. In case of rain, the walk will be held at Southdale Center. Walkers should meet near Caribou
Coffee. The walk should take about an hour.
“Come and join us on a wonderful nature tour,” said Hovland, encouraging residents to walk with him at
Bredesen Park. “We can have a great walking-and-talking experience together.”
Later this year, the Mayor will walk at 50th & France, Rosland Park, Edina Promenade and Centennial Lakes
Park. Those who plan to walk June 22 should meet in the parking lot of Wooddale Park at Wooddale Avenue
and West 50th Street. The group will walk to 50th & France and tour the downtown area.
